Staff & Students
Our tutors have won many awards including the prestigious Golden Spider and Digital Media Awards. See our Staff Page for more info.
Our student films have been shown at festivals in Europe and the US. NMC has provided high-level training programmes for international broadcasters in Eastern Europe and North Africa on behalf of the European Broadcasting Union, Geneva. In 2009, NMC developed a new animated 3D logo for the EBU. This logo was broadcast to an audience of over 125 million people as part of the Eurovision Song Contest 2011.
In 2013 we are launching the Centre for Interactive Narrative Research [CINR].
All course applicants are called for interview to ensure they are enrolling on a programme that will facilitate their career objectives. Regular one-to-one tutorials and small class sizes ensure that this level of guidance continues throughout their studies at NMC.
Many students undertake courses at NMC as 'conversion' programmes - to make a change to their career path. Our tutors have extensive experience in dealing with creative students and our 'self-directed learning' approach to study is successful in helping learners achieve their personal potential. Collaboration between disciplines promotes shared knowledge and regular course content revisions provide an effective and immediate response to industry needs.
Our HND graduates have secured places in 1yr top-up BA (Hons) degree programmes in Ireland and UK.
Course accreditations include the internationally recognised 2-year BTEC Higher National Diploma and 1-year BTEC Higher National Certificate. A series of City & Guilds accredited short course programmes are also available.
We offer several MA Programmes including MA in Digital Film & Animation, MA in Photography, MA in Film Production and three MA (by Project) titles. These programmes are accredited by London Metropolitan University.
We have a bi-lateral agreement with the ENS Louis Lumière school, Paris to facilitate student transfer between our institutions. We are developing a similar arrangement with the School of Visual Arts, New York.
